What can we say about Marshland Alpacas? Other than it is a unique, glamping lodge decorated to a high standard both inside and out and even has a roof lined with alpaca fur!
Its a totally dog friendly site, for both the glamping lodge and the camping and caravan area. The owners could not be more accommodating, even bringing an extra water bowl for our dogs to keep
outside so that we could have a water bowl both inside and out for them. They ask that you pick up after your dogs and even provide poo bags for your use, next to the outside bins.
There’s a great clean toilet block and shower block, within a few steps of the lodge. No corners have been cut, and nothing is done cheaply.... you won't find £1 shop cups in this lodge as even the
lodge itself was custom made to the owner's design. The grass is kept short, neat and maintained and the parking is very close to the lodge. This makes it a great site for long haired dogs or show
dogs, as they even put mesh on the grass in the bad weather to stop it getting boggy !
Wooden flooring inside the lodge not only looks good, but is a lot better when travelling with dogs and easier to clean than the cheap light carpets we see a lot when glamping. WiFi is free and you
can pick it up in the pod.
The only downsides to this site we found was that it wasn't totally enclosed; As the site also accommodates large caravans and camper vans it does have a wide open drive, that is not closed. This was
not a problem for us as our dogs have good recall and would not wander off, but if you can't trust your dogs recall I would keep them on a lead at this site to be safe… but to be fair most campsites
require you to keep dogs on leads at all times anyway, especially around livestock and with the horses and alpacas here, we’d recommend it.
Marshland Alpacas is a working farm , with alpacas and horses on site.
